The Celine was custom built by it's captain in South Africa. She is a 40' catamaran with a spacious deck and saloon. Upon completion he sailed her to St. Maarten where she has operated as a charter boat. She is currently docked at Skip Jack's Restaurant on the Simpson Bay Lagoon.
Neil Roebert is the captain and owner of the Celine. He was born in East London, South Africa. After finishing college in Pretoria he moved to Cape Town. He sailed from South Africa to the Caribbean in February '96. Neil has been chartering in St Maarten ever since
We will fetch you from Bobbies Marina at 10:15. Bobbies is near the cruise ship terminal in Phillipsburg. We have a 1 1/2 hour sail to Baie Longue or Long Bay where the famous La Samana Hotel is situated. We pass Little Bay, Cay Bay and then Simpson Bay on our trip to Long Bay. The sail downwind to Long Beach is a smooth ride with the wind and current.
Long Beach has as its name says a long white sandy beach. Nestled in the corner against the headland is the beautiful La Samana Hotel. We anchor close to the rock face and are in a very protected and calm area. The water here is ideal for swimming, snorkeling and sunbathing.
Lunch will be at 12:30 which includes Seafood Paella, blackened Mahi Mahi, BBQ ribs, potato salad and garden salad. There is an open bar on-board all day with rum punch, whiskey, vodka, gin, beer, wine, bottled water and a variety of soft drinks.
We will sail to the French bridge for the 2:30 opening and be at the dock at Skip Jack's Restaurant at 3pm. I can arrange for a taxi to be there to take you back to Philipsburg for a little shopping before you return to your ship.
If you have a late departing cruise ship, we can extend the day and drop you off back at the cruise ship dock at 4:30 for an additional $10.00 per person
